Lambourne is a modern golf club and we consider that appropriate behaviour both in the club house and on the golf course is far more important than dictating how an individual should be dressed. We do recognise that opinions on this matter are very divided, so as a guideline for your visit to Lambourne please note that any smart casual clothing, including denim, is acceptable in the clubhouse although we do ask gentlemen to remove baseball caps. Please ensure mobile phones are switched to silent or vibrate mode and are only used in the lobby area or outside the front of the clubhouse and for emergencies only the course. Metal spikes are not permitted in the bar areas and we do ask golfers to change from their soft spikes during the winter and wet weather to prevent grass and mud being brought into the clubhouse. Clean trainers and the modern pimpled golf shoes in the clubhouse are perfectly acceptable.
On the golf course we do accept fashion changes very quickly and our current guideline is simply that any recognised golfing apparrel that can be purchased from a professional golf retail outlet is acceptable. Gentlemen’s shirts these days are designed to be worn in or outside the waistband and matching socks of any variety are fine. Golf shorts should be tailored and cargo shorts are, as yet, not deemed "golfing apparrel".
